“I had not participated in a yoga class for 25 years when, at age 45, I decided to join a yoga studio in Asheville, where I met Grace just before she led my third class. After the first three classes—in which, I realized I had forgotten the names of all but the most basic poses—I asked Grace if she would offer me some private sessions. I needed someone to help me relearn pose names and some other essential skills. She agreed, and offered considerably more guidance, which I clearly needed. Things like learning several very helpful breathing techniques, including one for pre-class practice that helps me get “in the zone” if I’ve had to hurry to the studio following meetings or other engagements that might make it difficult to settle down, clear my mind and focus on my yoga practice. With Grace’s help, I quickly redeveloped the confidence needed to participate in faster-paced classes typically filled with advanced practitioners—even if I sometimes struggle to keep up. Grace also tailored her one-on-one guidance to help me learn stretching techniques to address stiffness and soreness associated with other fitness activities, such as spending possibly too much time hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains—or just overdoing it while trying to rapidly redevelop my yoga skills so that I can eventually show off to my wife, who’s been practicing for a couple decades.” —Mike
“My chest felt lighter and I felt more prepared for my upcoming surgery after private breath coaching questions with Grace. She listened to all of my questions and answered them to the point I could understand. I recommend hiring a breath coach if you need assistance with intentional breathing techniques. Grace is the go-to, thanks Grace!” — Vic

Inversions: The Three Secrets
Sunday, 10/18 1-3pm
Inversions aren't just for looking cool on Instagram -- they can be an
opportunity to cultivate resilience and tenacity off of the mat. Going
upside down can teach you how to keep your breath steady and stay
present through moments of challenge, uncertainty, and doubt, and
cultivate inner strength through trying, failing, and trying again.
Join Grace for a playful, empowering two-hour exploration of
inversions. In this workshop, you'll learn three key alignment
principles for finding balance, along with strength-building drills
and practical techniques to help you build confidence upside down.
Whether you're brand new to being upside down or are refining an
established inversions practice, you'll leave with tools you can
continue to explore long after the workshop ends.
This workshop is open to all, and will count for 2 CEs for yoga teachers.
